Why is it that days at home go by so much faster than days at work?
Part of it may be the fact that I slept in this morning. When I finally got up, I fixed myself a delicious parfait showcasing one of my new favorite yogurts:
This stuff is the perfect consistency and texture. I’m not a big fan of vanilla so the plain is perfect. I layered it with some homemade granola from the farmer’s market, blackberries, raspberries and topped the whole shebang off with just a quick swirl of light whipped cream. Voila! A perfect summer breakfast.
I love using this stemware because of it’s history. It’s part of a set that was passed down to me from my mother who inherited it from her mother who received it as a wedding gift from her mother-in-law, the original owner. Follow that?
Off to the doctor’s office after breakfast for my checkup and glucose tolerance test. For the test, I had to drink a cup of lemon-lime flavored sugar water, then wait an hour to have my blood drawn. It wasn’t as bad as everyone warned me it would be, but I still felt a little off afterward.
I came home and worked on a couple craft projects while watching this:
It was no Oscar contender, but I enjoyed it. I think the last time I saw a movie in the theatre was in 2005. I don’t have much of an attention span so I tend to get bored and anxious when I’m forced to sit that still for that long. I usually wait for things I want to see to come out on DVD and then check them out of the library. It’s free, I can take potty breaks whenever I need one and the concessions are much cheaper as well as healthy.
Afterward, the pup and I went for a brisk 30 minute walk followed by 25 minutes of prenatal yoga from YogaDownload.com to stretch. To clarify, I did the yoga sans pup. She likes to lay on my yoga mat and is pretty good at downward dog. Beyond that, she’s hopeless.
My appetite has been all over the place since the test this morning so there was no lunch to photograph. I ate little bits all day including a handful of peanuts, a whole wheat English muffin, the rest of the raspberries and a few raw veggies.
Now I’m off to stir the crockpot and get some things up for sale on ebay. Tonight’s recipe is a new one so I’m hoping to post again tonight after dinner.
